Andrew J. Watson, the Chief Representative and the delegation of the Ford Foundation, visited NTS-PD on 5 September 2007. The delegation was given several presentations about the main projects run by the NTS-PD. They discussed issues relating to non-traditional security, such as the imbalance between males and females at the birth, and the question of revealing public information; as well as exchanged views over the project selection and the function of the centre.

The Ford Foundation chartered in 1936, a private non-profit institution, manages to make the grants for science, education and charity. After visiting the Centre, Mr Watson said that Zhejiang University was the first institution in China to set up a formal research institute for the study of non-traditional security and peaceful development; which was also in the leading position in the world. He confirmed that Ford Foundation would continue its commitment to support such research programme.
