Professor Yu Xiaofeng talks to the Secretary-General of the Club of Rome Martin Lees in Beijing

Professor Yu Xiaofeng, the Director of NTS-PD Center, talked to the secretary-general of the Club of Rome and former UN deputy secretary- general Martin Lees, during his visit in Beijing on January 31. They’ve talked about China possibilities in Association with the Club of Rome, world’s way out after the setback in American development model and China's growing security problems. Professor Yu Xiaofeng presented to Mr. Martin Lees "non-traditional security in China" series, and introduced research results and directions of the NTS-PD Center in recent years. The secretary-general Martin Lees highly spoke of Chinese scholars’ research directions and achievements, and advanced the Club’s current focus on five issues: environment and natural resources, globalization, world development, social transformation, peace and security. He hopes to cooperate mostly with Zhejiang University in non-traditional security researches. Professor Yu Xiaofeng initially briefed Mr. Lees on upcoming China's growing security four important aspects of research projects. It has provoked Mr. Lees’ great interest, and he asked for an outline of the research programs. Professor Yu Xiaofeng, on behalf of Zhejiang University, hosted a banquet for Martin Lees along with scholars from Peking University, National Defense University, Shanghai Institute of Politics and Law, Guangdong Institute for Advanced Study in Win-win Economics. The secretary-general Martin Lees said that he’ll visit the Non-Traditional Security Center of Zhejiang University at the appropriate time.
