On April 10^th 2012, the book release conference of Bule Book of Non-Traditional Security(2011-2012) was held at Beijing.  This is the first annual research report on China’s non-traditionl security.

       This blue book, published by Social Sciences Academic Press (China), is written by a group of top experts and scholars from security study area. They are sponsored by the Center for Non-Traditional Security & Peaceful Development Studies (NTS-PD) of Zhejiang University Overall, this research report was finished for the first time by exclusively Chinese's scholars and could be rated as the first new type of blue book of Non-traditional Security.

    This blue book, with an academic perspective of security studies professionals, conducts an annual examination on the latest developments of hot non-traditional security issues. Besides, it particularly focuses on those emergent and overwhelming security issues of China in related levels and areas, analyzing their current situation and developmental tendency. At the end of each chapter, authors gave an detailed exploration of the applicable policy suggestions for those decision-makers.

    The keystones of  Blue Book of Non-traditional security (2011-2012) is to analyze the prospects of the real security world with a non-traditional security perspective, which provides a non-military and non-political view on such important security issues as public health, food, energy, land, water, etc. By this kind of interpretation, it not merely promotes the people to evolve a unique cognition and consideration on many new challenges and puzzles in the context of globalization, but also help the people to grasp and respond to the issues and challenges in a sober-minded way, such as the issues participated by non-military actors, transnational actors and non-state actors, the challenges with universal threat, and the issues need to be resolved by multinational actors' common governance. 

The Blue Book is an authoritative, cutting-edge, pioneering and timely research report. It applies the multi-disciplinary perspective onto non-traditional security studies, and tries to build an valuable assessment model and index system for non-traditional security capacity building of Chinese government. The publication  of the blue book, would advance the discipline development of Non-traditional Security Management and enlighten those observers and researchers to take more conscious actions to confront the challenges of the global "public security" issues.

This press release conference was cosponsored by Center for Non-traditional Security and Peaceful Development and Social Sciences Academic Press. Scholars from Peking University, China Foreign Affairs University, National Defense University, Lanzhou University, Sun Yat-sen University, Tongji University and many others were present on the conference.
