Professor Xiaofeng YU visited Lanzhou University

The Program Opening and Appointing Conference by Center for China Border Security and Development Studies was held on 8 April 2013 at Yifu Hall of Science, Lanzhou University. Pro.Yu, director of NTS-PD was invited to participate it and was appointed as one of the academic committee members.

 The Center for China Border Security and Development Studies of Lanzhou University dedicates researches to China’s of border security and development of North West minority, comprehensively applying tran-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary approaches such as History, Ethnology, Anthropology, Psychology, Cultural Studies and Religion Studies. Its implicit and explicit studies provide theoretical perspectives to China’s border governance strategies and policies and offer intellectual approaches for decision-making on multi-minority’s coexistence and mutual prosperity. 

Lili Xu, vice president of Ethnology Institute of Lan Zhou University, is the director of The Center for China Border Security and Development Studies. In addition, Pro. Qingshu Zhao, director of Ethnic Development Institute of Development Research Center Under the State Council, was appointed the director of the academic committee. Shengxiang Chai, the vice president of Ethnic Affairs Committee of Gan Su Province and Manli Ma, Professor of Ethnology Institute of Lan Zhou Univerisity were appointed the consultants. The members of the academic committee also include Commandant Jun Lu (military subarea of Tong Liao District of Inner Mongolia), Pro.Zhaorong Peng (president of Anthropology Institute of Xiamen University), and Pro.Wenjiang Chen (head of Social Science Department of Lanzhou University)
